FinCon12 Coming to Downtown Denver Sep 6-9, 2012

Now for some exciting news. After considering your survey results (thank you, again) and researching hotel pricing and availability (very time-consuming process) I’m pleased to announce that FinCon12 will be held in lovely Downtown Denver on September 6-9, 2012!

Denver is going to a be a great place to have the conference. It’s centrally located (under 3 hr flight for 95% of the contiguous U.S.). Denver has wonderful weather in the late Summer / early Fall with temperatures in the low 70s. And our hotel pricing is some of the best in the country for a major metro downtown. We will be paying only $99 a night and this time it definitely includes free wifi in the room. More hotel info will be available as soon as registration opens.

So mark your calendars for Thursday, Sep. 6th to Sunday, Sep. 9th, 2012. That’s right, we get a whole extra day to spend together! The conference will likely begin Thursday afternoon with a charity event, followed by a reception at the hotel. That gives us two full days (Friday and Saturday) for meetings and socializing. This is going to be fun. More details will be announced when they become available.

Conference and hotel registration should open up in early January.

I have heard good things from other bloggers and would love to move forward on this.

I have always flown into Denver but always wanted a chance to visit.

Is this the same time as the Canadian Personal Finance Blogger Conference?

How can I submit a session?

Count me in! FinCOn11 was amazing, so I know FinCon12 will be amazing as well. I've already booked the days off work :) Look forward to meeting everyone from last year, and some new people as well.

Cheers

I missed FinCon11 but will try my best to make it this year. I'm a bit disappointed that it's not in CA, but I haven't been to Denver so it'll be fun too.

Didn't make it to FinCon11 but I'm gonna do my best to get there this year. I might be convinced to bring my golf clubs too if the baggage fee isn't too crazy.

I missed first time in Chicago. Now I am all for it. Love to see the bloggers I have been reading for years.

Cool. Just got back from San Diego for the Holiday Bowl and it was 72-74 degrees and amazing!

Denver is a nice place that's logistically good for lots a folks and much better than Des Moines! Sounds economical too.

Any golfers out there?

financialsamura - great idea! I'd bring my clubs.

GGMillar Glen, are you getting any of our e-mails? Maybe not, as we sent about 4 to you. Can you shoot me an e-mail so I know they aren't going to spam or something? Thx, Sam

Thanks for the early advise. I live in Manila and would like to save as early as I can so I can afford to attend #FinCon12.

As I am not really familiar with the costs of things in Denver (nor in the US), I'd like to ask, excluding the airfare, how much would be a comfortable budget so I could cover the basics? Thank you.

brodfitz That's fantastic that you are considering this trip. The hotel will be $99 +tax a night.. I would budget at least $20 a day for food. Your conference registration will include lunches on Friday and Sat. Possibly breakfast as well. Airport transport in Denver varies from $10 to $50 each way, depending on the type of transportation. Here's some great advice on the issue: http://www.biblemoneymatters.com/how-to-save-money-when-attending-a-blog-conference/

I'm a little disappointed my first choice, Long Island, wasn't chosen, but I'm excited to know when and where!! (Ok, I didn't really pick Long Island but that would have been super cool).
