We used it in every blog post, press release, tweet, and I even plastered it all over the main stage at the conference.
Still, at #FinCon12 itself I was surprised to see “#FinCon12″ trending on Twitter. Other attendees noticed this as well. Twitter does publish localized trends, so that’s most likely what we were seeing. But it was still a fun moment.
Inspired by that, once I returned home from the conference, I wanted to see how much exposure we had to the #FinCon12 hash tag. I reached out to TweetReach.com to put together a report. They went back into Twitter history and tracked the #FinCon12 hash tag from Sept 5th to 10th. Here are there results:
- 1,280,990 people were reached
- 13,642,121 impressions of the hash tag
- 6,150 tweets (3,400 original tweets, 2,700 retweets and replies)
- 763 unique users
