Here’s a community spotlight post about the latest group project being spear-headed by Jeff Rose of Good Financial Cents.
Jeff Rose, Leader of the Life Insurance Movement
The financial blogging community came together to help get the word out about a topic that young investors to need to know about – the Roth IRA.
The Roth IRA Movement was a huge success attracting over 140 bloggers to take part all on the same day and getting the notice and mention from major media sites such as the Wall Street Journal, Huffington Post, Kiplinger’s and Forbes.
Riding off that movement’s success, I thought it was only fitting to keep the momentum going.
This movement focusing on life insurance, seemed only fitting as September is Life Insurance Awareness Month.
Save the Date
The date is going to be Wednesday, August 22nd and I’m hoping it’s going to be bigger than the Roth IRA Movement. To entice participants, I wanted to:
- Make it simple
- Reward them for taking part
Making it Simple
Bloggers that aren’t as comfortable writing about life insurance can be comforted in the fact that they can answer one question regarding life insurance to take part. That question is,
Why is life insurance important to you and your family?
It’s not a requirement to answer that one question, but it’s at least a starting point. You have full discretion on what you want to write about. We are kindly asking that you mention that September is Life Insurance Awareness month as this movement is a perfect kickoff for that campaign.
Did You Mention a Reward?
I sure did! What this movement has that the Roth IRA movement did not is a chance to get rewarded for taking part. All bloggers taking part will be entered into a raffle for a chance to win a new iPad, Google Nexus or Amazon Kindle Fire. If you want to do a video for the movement, you increase your chances that much more! wink, wink… 
You’ll get more chance to win for sharing the movement to your friends and followers via social media.
The Life Foundation is also hosting a contest for the best blog or video post. A panel will pick the top 3-5 posts and then their Facebook fan page community of almost 100,000 fans will determine the winner. That means you need to bring your A Game!

The Financial Blogging Community is a Force
The Roth IRA movement was nothing without this wonderful community. Thanks to all your efforts, we were able get nice mentions from big time media. But most importantly, we were able to educate young investors to get started with a Roth IRA. I received two emails in the past week of people who started a Roth IRA because of it. Success!
The Life Insurance movement will have that same impact. Let’s do this together!
