I was reading the Wise1000 Newsletter a few weeks ago and I read an interview with Karen Bryan, blogger at Help Me to Save. Karen shared that she was hosting a conference for financial bloggers in the UK in September.
I quickly got in touch with Karen to discuss her event and now FinCon is an official Silver Sponsor. The event is called the Write on Finance Blog Up. If you’re in the UK I hope you’ll join Karen and other financial bloggers in their effort. I’m hoping to attend.
Here are a few words from Karen about the conference:
The Write on Finance Blog Up takes place in Leeds, Yorkshire UK, over the weekend 22-23 September 2012. It’s the first major get-together of UK personal finance bloggers/online writers and those working in the finance industry. The event will be a mix of presentations, workshops, panel discussions and networking.
I’m delighted that FinCon is a silver sponsor of the Write on Finance Blog Up, as the success of FinCon in the US encouraged me to do something similar, albeit on a smaller scale, in the UK.
- The speakers are Miss Thrifty and Emma Bryn-Jones of Zero Credit.
- Panelists include Maria Nedeva of The Money Principle and Adam Piplica of Magical Penny.
If you’d like to be a panelist or lead a workshop, please contact me (Karen). I’d also love some input on what topics attendees would like to see covered during the event.
The aim of the Write on Finance Bog Up, is for bloggers/online writers to take away a list of actions, to help them achieve the goals of their own blog/website.
Tickets for independent personal finance/money saving bloggers & writers cost £20 (plus a small eventbrite fee). Earlybird corporate tickets cost £130 (plus eventbrite fee) until 30 June 2012, when the price reverts to £195 (plus fee) per ticket.
If you decide to attend the Write on Finance Blog Up and register by July 15th, you’ll be automatically entered to win a fantastic prize: a free ticket to FinCon12 or FinCon13 (your choice), plus £400 towards your flight to the U.S. Read more about this giveaway.
